Memories

Forever doesn't exist

Because when I stared into your eyes

I used to feel at home

You used to be that place for me

Your arms, my hearth.

Now all I’m left with is broken pictures stained with tears

Or recent memories of memories, no

You left me with nothing.

You left me with lingering conversations of what our kids names would be

Oliver or Grace

You took the memories of us together and drowned them with vodka.

Four years is nothing to me, a blink of an eye

For you, it's a battlefield of faithfulness and questions

I was willing to fight that battle, to crush the opposition

You, well in the end I realize that you had already given up

You’ve left me with memories, and nothing more.

I hate you for that.
