Memories

Finally I reap what has been sown--

The fruits of my labor.

The tree bores

A lone poison apple.

Against the trunk I lie,

And sleep follows.

Darkness blankets my eyes,

But there is still light to see.

Memories flood my mind,

But one surfaces above all.

Lights dance across my consciousness,

Like millions of fireflies in the night.

“What is done cannot be undone”

Yet no other way, I would rather it be.

I end so that you go on--

Goodbye.
