Memories

Memories

As the years go by I’ve seen

The way your memories have been taken from you

Faded slowly from when you where eighteen

And in your royal blues

I know you don’t remember me now

But I want you to know

That I will never disallow

Your memory to go

I look in your face

And know you don’t have much time

The Alzheimer’s is taking you rapid

I want you to know that you’ll always have in me a place

And when you climb

To heaven in the sky you’ll never be vapid

I have a family member that has Alzhiemers and thought that it would be a nice thing to write for him even though he does not understand
