The Memories That Matter

The memory of home Brings snippets of childhood Black and white But mostly gray. The details are blurry, Unsure of the real truth. But that unwavering hope Of true happiness found In the simplest of dreams Is most outspoken. Imaginary friends Come back to play, The scent of dinner Is in the air. The anticipation, the joy Are constant reminders Of true happiness. The images may not be As clear as in times passed, But the emotions, the feelings Are all that matter. The memories of childhood Don't rely on the actual. They need only An open heart to fill With wonders and dreams.
