Memories under the skin
a shadow flickers at the edges of my sanity
my thoughts not so clear, a weary head laid to rest
again the onslaught enters my conscious
of things that will never be
though it's so real, feelings wrapped in an embrace
sufficating, rolling, cheating, lieing
yet I can feel it the presence I once knew
so near
yet a far off plain I may never see again
I feel the touch of a velvet caress
then my heart catches the rest
a stabbing throbbing blistering symphony
of a flicker of light you used to be
tormenting me with every passing second
when is this reality I can touch feel hurt hate and love
when does a dream become reality
why did you leave
