In Memory of....

A life is like a leaf,

Each has it's own hue.

Yesterday I watched a leaf fall,

It's colors still bright against the thick October fog.

All are sad to see a leaf fall,

For it foreshadows cold winter up ahead.

However, without the color of death,

The beauty of life would remain hidden.

I shall always remember transitional September,

When summer seemed only a second ago

And October a lifetime away.

I wait to see you in unending spring.

And see you in the green freshness of  life.
