Memory of a Friend
He died so young,
He had much life to give.
He was sixteen,
He was just starting to live.
Baseball was his life,
He played football too.
With every corner turned,
there was a smile for you.
He was a kind person,
And a loving brother.
He did what he wanted
without upsetting his mother.
Now he is with God
and we miss him so.
As a year comes to pass,
it grows harder to let go.
How could one?
When they knew who he was.
The kindest person you would meet,
With him, there was no silent pause.
A Boomer Sooner for eternity,
for his end is no where near.
He lives in our hearts,
and helps calms our fear.
He smiles down on us
When the sun shines bright.
If you feel his presence near you,
he has chosen the right.
When you hear thunder clap,
high above you head.
That is him, playing baseball
even when he is dead.
This year has been long,
this year has gone by too fast.
But your memory is still with us,
and we promise to make it last.
So continue to watch us,
We can feel you around.
We hope to see you again,
once we too are buried in the ground.
