In Memory of A Loved One

I remember that day as if it were yesterday I saw you lying in that hospital bed, time ticking away. You coughed when I touched you as if you were trying to speak, But that tube down your throat kept you from making a peep. That toothless grin is the one I miss, I miss your laugh and your kiss. I miss how you would pinch my cheek When I was down, it was your face I seeked. You're in a peaceful place, your suffering is done. I wish I could see you one more time, just one. God's home is now yours too. You're up above watching everything I do. The day that you died, the angels rejoiced, For Heaven gained an angel, who was God's greatest choice. In that coffin you were smiling, so I know you're at peace. I have faith that your joy has continued to increase. I hope one day I will see you again, Because I miss you, Grandad, you were my very best friend. I am patiently waiting for the day when, I meet you again un that Heavenly home. Amen.
