in memory of our lives
in this troubled world with bodies found cold, burried in a whole, shallow in dirt
he thought my dead body would never be found and carried home
before i died i was burnt by the man i love
before i died i was mom, sister , child
before i died i was kidnapped, raped, stabbed, left for dead, i died
when i died, my death echoed through the community where i played as an innocent child, unbeknown to the fate my body would endure.
my days became nights, nights became days until the day my body said farewell troubled world
before i died i was stripped naked, beaten, dragged, for all to see
one to many woman and child burried in a whole, shallow in dirt
one to many woman and child, burnt, kidnapped, raped, stabbed, beaten, dragged in recent times.
ever more this troubled world rains darkness not light
and grieve echoes in the Souls of those left behind
as you lay our broken bodies to rest
remember to find the inner strength to heal, exhale, breathe, inhale, breathe, in memory of our lives
remember to breathe to save the next woman and child
