Memory of You
As I sit in my bedroom, searching the forest like a crow,
I reflect on my past few months
And thought, “I wish it went by more slow”.
As I sit in my bedroom, the light low,
The brain keeps twisting
And I wonder, “Why is my mood so low?”
But then I remembered the long nights
The nights that flew by so fast
I will be honest it made my heart tight:
“Hello,” I say, “Here you are again,”
You came, you left, I got the message
The memories crawl back into my brain.
The way you made me feel so cared for-
These feelings cannot be regretful.
Walking down the old dark route,
You shun the moon’s bright light on me
Did you love me? Was there doubt?
I wouldn’t know, you were shut down
The King of all my wildest dreams,
Oh, how I craved that precious crown.
Like winning a marathon, an award to be in your presence
“A day of the weekend would work just fine,”: a smile.
Be it rain, snow, or hail upon the day, I sure wasn’t careless;
But I had my life, and you had yours
Thy godly angel eyes that lit the world
You were the best of all my cures.
Since the time of robust red,
I’m found still sleepless in my bed.
As I sat in my bedroom, my mood low,
I reflect on the past few months
And I thought, “I wish it went more slow”.
Yet again I open the senile memory door
The scent of smooth cologne sneaks through it
Things are not as they were before.
My, oh, my, but how it felt-
To love, connect, appreciate
The taste of love and sweet velvet.
The way life runs, I guess it’s only fair
To live for what is best for solely you:
Maybe we were never meant to be a pair?
To this day the nights are Grey
Here, for the memory of you, I dearly pray.
