Memory's

Thru seasons bleak and frozen in Time

a single Oak stands sincere and strong.

Thou bare her beauty not yet decline,

for the roots forget not their song.

In her youth she had effortless

elegance, bound not yet by rain or storm -

But soon her leaves fell one by one lest

Summer be stolen before it was born.

Now I know that there's more sunshine

                      apart;

We grew more frigid as did the air.

Never agreed - my heart's mind and mind's heart,

Memory's seduction I must beware:

The Winter seems broken after it's fought,

But Summer is purest only in thought.
