Mental Battles
The struggle of being an athlete
I can be seen as a star athlete that has everything handed to him on a golden platter
But what goes on, on the inside is much deeper
Feeling the weight of everyone's expectations on my shoulders
Expectations and mental warfare taking over my mind and body like a deadly virus
Looking into the mirror, hating the person that is staring back at me
Working and working until my body is ready to collapse
OCD taking over, not being able rest without anxiety eating away at me
Voices in my head
telling myself
Why don't I quit, why don't I just give up, I will never be good enough, you aren't fit enough, you weight too much, your not fast enough
How will I make these thoughts go away
Will I let them consume me like a tsunami Devouring a village
But i try again and again never giving up
I can try to fight these thoughts off by telling myself that I am worth it
Telling myself that I am more than just an athlete
