Mental Illnesses
Listen, Can you hear it?
It's the sound of your own heart pounding.
It beats like a gong, and echos far,
Yet no one hears it?
Listen,
As the sound of your breath gets faster and faster.
Do you feel it?
As your chest gets tight
And your tears begin to stream down your face,
So you either look down, or you cover it up.
Do you hear it?
It's the scream in your mind
Of all the pressure you're feeling combined,
Yet, everyone still believes you're fine?
It's not right!
How don't they see it?
How don't they hear it?
If they only looked close enough to see you,
Before you hid your tears.
But it is still not like they could ever rid you of your tears.
So, why does it even matter?
Because when you look at yourself in the mirror you see yourself fatter,
When really, your belly has only become flatter,
But when you look at your elbows and knees,
It's only the bones that you see.
Please believe me,
You are beautiful,
So stop killing yourself with all of your anxiety!
