Mercy

Mercy

The choice was swift and all my own,

Desire neglect’d, still apparent.

Mist at once shrouded my judgement,

My bearings vanished, sight was gone.

Lost I was, as a man at sea,

Drowning, alone, no help was seen.

My weak defense, welcomed the fiend

“Attack, no mercy, don’t heed her plea!”

My soul cried out! So snared I was.

The Lord observed my odious state,

Wrongs I’d done His laws did berate.

Restor’d, renewed, joy he did cause.

Delight brims over, out my heart,

For He not once did cease his love.

I did’st denounce the King above,

His mercy and love never depart’d.
