The mermaid

I will never forget. That day I stared into to the eyes of the most extraordinary creature hplaced upon this earth. It was a moment like no other. The earth beneath me didn't even seem to be there anymore. I stood there but it felt as if I was floating , floating steady as the glorious creature that was in front of me. I couldn't think of anything more magnificent then that what I was witnessing at that moment. I could stand here for the rest of my life if it allowed me. I've seen everything I needed in that beautiful creature. So I wanted it for my own. No one else could see this. So I reached for it, the creature stood steady as is , it didn't move as I came forward. It glanced into my eyes even further as I came closer. I was about an inch away before I woke up and all I could hear was captain yelling my name as loud as the horn on the steamboat. I lifted my head looked around and all I saw was men running around gathering pieces of the boat. I raced into the captains office but, I didn't make it in time. The boat sank quickly, water was everywhere. I jumped into the sea as the boat disappeared. I closed my eyes and sank to the very bottom. I felt earth beneath me so, I opened my eyes and there it was. My beautiful creature floating there staring me right into my  eye.
