Mermaid Story

a beautiful cottage sits by a lake the girl slips out of bed before he can wake she walks outside into the fresh morning air then runs to the lakeside with her feet bare she dives gracefully into the lake and not a sound does she make she forms into a beautiful mermaid but he does not know since their marriage is forbade her tail is long and glistens in the light the fish swim around her darting in fright the cool deep water is hers to roam it's here that she feels most at home when the sun starts to rise she bids the water goodbye in a moment she's human once more and runs back inside to the man she adores she gave up the water for him for without his love her life seemed dim so she lives in a cottage with him by the lake and swims every morning before he can wake
