Metal Beasts

My life has revolved around these metal beasts in the air.

I just want to soar to where they are.

Cruising mach one at flight level 350 with no care.

And see the the Earth from near and far.

These metal beast are familiar to most and yet are so unknown.

37 million journeys every year, and still these machines are taken granted.

And so are the people by which they are flown.

How has air travel become so disenchanted?

A pilot is what I strive to be.

It seems as if no one gets it but me.

But I found a place with other aviators there.

Soon I'll be flying, Arizona State University is where.
