metal echo

Searching
in the chaotic network of crowd
pristine window reflection
filtered introspection

Searching
for the angle, in achieved attire
a polished image trapped in screens
blemished existentialism

Searching
blinded by his solitary strobing light
lovers scream his name as the drum strikes
he long ago lost the power to listen

Searching
her unassuming refrain
a ballad, haunting yet subtle
octaves above the aftershock bass
swallowed in the torrential rain

Searching
he drowns in his glittering pain
