Metamorphosis

I've always envied butterflies, because you see, I've always dreamt of flying.
High aside the white, fluffy clouds in the sky.
And everything lately has been weighing me down & I cannot seem to get off the ground.
I'm sitting here, a caterpillar.
A boring, worthless caterpillar.
No one cares about me, I'm just someone taking up space.
I'm not flying, if anything I'm falling.
Falling in the sea of gruesome words, hurtful actions, and people leaving me behind.
But, in my cocoon, I've realized this is all part of my metamorphosis. It's a phase & it will pass & I will get through it.
So I am no longer scared of falling, because I've realized...
I must first fall to find out I can fly.
I must first be a caterpillar to become a butterfly.
