Metamorphosis

I was a speck of dust just barely getting by Luckily caught by a caterpillar with closed eyes As I latched on to him , we grew closer and fell in love He built a cacoon, we called it home and I felt safe inside ; my forever home In this cacoon were many storms , but we built it to last , so I patched up the holes Maby seasons in we stood firm, till one winter morning shook up out home I desperately tried to mend absent holes But this storm was beyond my control My caterpillar's silence was deafening, rejection too cold His softness had left , he grew layers I couldn't get through Our cacoon started to crack , the cold set in , I begged but I knew change was coming in His eyes opened and shone brightly, he liked it outside Those in penetrable layer had grown into wings I closed my eyes just for a while and before I could say bye I was dust in a cacoon and my caterpillar was a dream
