Metropolis Mind

My mind is city

With journeying words,

Syllables, letters, numbers,

Facts, acting as passerbys,

Departing as swiftly

As they arrive.

However,

A few special words,

Syllables, letters, numbers,

Facts take up permanent residence

In my little metropolis,

Planting themselves

There forever.

Then of course,

There are those words,

Syllables, letters, numbers,

Facts which zoom on by, leaving

Absolutely no evidence

That they had ever

Been there.

I've been writing since 5th grade on and off. In the past few years it's become a major part of my life. It has been my outlet for expression. My main inspiration has been Ellen Hopkins.
