mi diosa

they said i wouldn't go to heaven if i touched her but they didn't understand that heaven was the way she looked at me and they didn't see the god peeking out of her pupils they didn't see the way she sculpted people out of clay and folded love with paper how the world was showered with her laughter and oceans were made everywhere she swam and she carved valleys as she parted her hair how flowers sprout from her footsteps and sidewalks become holy land and they wonder why i worship her how each conversation feels like a prayer they didn't see how the sun radiates from her smile they didn't see the moon come out when she closed her eyes how she breathed stars into the night sky they would never understand what it feels like to know a god but i will worship her until the world understands
