The Middle

Touched in ways one needs not

Not touched in the ways one sought

The deepest desired never comes true

Ones once thought never came through

Oh how easy it could be

Screaming thoughts inside one's head

Turn to silence once their fed

No matter with truth or with lies

Filled with struggles and true tries

Oh how easy it could be

Surrounded by those who form a wall

Only to be one reach away and fall

At the bottom nothing sounds more obsolete

Oh how easy it could be

Losing the only thing that seemed to matter

Makes you believe there's nothing much sadder

Knowing that no one person would understand

Having not experienced the feelings firsthand

Oh how easy it could be

Things would be simpler to wall all the way down

Things would be different to be the world renown

But in the middle there's no one but me

Oh how easy it could be

I've had a lot of minor struggles in my life, but nothing too dramatic that would really warrant a lot of attention. However, all together, they have been hard to deal with. This poem represents all of those people that feel like they are stuck in the middle of receiving support attention and congratulatory attention.
