In the Middle
In the middle of class and year,
Ended with switching schools.
All my friends and teachers wanted to stay,
They hugged and smiled and cried.
They would not let go.
But by the end of the day,
Stay is no longer a word.
For my mom must go.
We shall return,
Remembering you all,
For the gifts you gave,
Warmed the young broken heart.
For having to leave,
School that day,
Was the hardest thing for us to do.
