Middle school crush

Late in early January a banquet was held.

There was a boy who was still trying

To grasp the attention of an unknowing girl.

A heartbreak later, he appeared in the girl’s vision

And suddenly, like a bolt of lightning, his smile flashed

And it had never been dangerous until this moment.

They spent the rest of the school year gleefully

For this was just infatuation acting as love

Like a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

Summer came and they thought it was over

Until one fateful day they discovered

They were to be at the same camp.

Life was grand, life was great.

After all when your crush likes you back,

Shouldn’t it be?

School started up again,

Surely this was the end,

However they were proved wrong yet again.

A class they had together,

He was so happy to see her,

But she got scared.

Early in late August a French class took place.

There was a girl who was still trying

To grasp the attention of a discouraged boy.
