Midnight
Dark death descends over time.
Darkness transcends all minds.
Nothing consumes like fear.
Polar night eclipses the mind in terror.
Night cannot touch, nor feel, nor pity.
Deafening silence penetrates the void.
Midnight ravages the innocent’s peace,
Yet its claws are jaded by the light.
The midnight sun disperses the shadows.
The simple call him darkness.
The young name a monster.
But the wise brand him despair.
He is a mirror to humanity.
Darkness is infused into our essence,
Yet he is blinded by hope: the flame of man.
