Midnight

Wondering why my reflection was no longer there,

I remained.

Staring before me, instances of darkness.

Hoping to catch at least a silhouette.

That night,

I'd pictured us together.

But together you were.

And I who wondered alone.

Wondering if what you saw,

Was nothing more than me.

If what you did,

Was nothing more than senseless play.

That night,

My mind was eased.

Running with what we could've been,

Holding on to who I thought you were.

And you?

What did you see?

Was it you too?

Are you scared to show it?

Can you?

I wondered that night,

The signals that led me down this turn.

Staring before me, instances of darkness.

Hoping to catch at most our silhouette.
