Midnight

 The clock strikes home,

The chime goes "1,2,...,12"

And the midnight creatures wake.

Some are good,

Some are bad,

Mischief or help they can get.

Quick on feet,

Or light on wings,

They do their dance while we sleep.

And when we rise,

They say goodbye,

And quickly run from our sight.

The clock strikes home,

The chime goes "1,2,...,12"

They wait for their signal, then start to play again.
