Midnight

The clock will strike

and the day officially ends

but doesn’t it continue to beat as long as I’m awake? 

When does the time dictate when the next day is?

If I never fall asleep will I live for only a day?

Too many questions 

things to do

tasks to conplete

thoughts to have at this hour 

like how my world is seemingly easy to combust 

at any given moment of weakness

and how God and Science don’t have to collide

tomorrow’s paper is due

so is my decision on a career

do I decide this now 

or do I decide when I choose to fall asleep and create a new day

either way I would stay awake
