Midnight Creek
From here the creek looks like a streak of silver.
Its cool, calming waters gently sweep by.
It ripples and swirls like a silken river.
Its soothing splashes create a lullaby.
The mist twirls and whirls past routinely.
Constantly creating never ending turns.
Ghostly trees droop and sway and whisper eerily.
Dew drops glisten on the banks, daring you to cross.
Yet its strong current could whisk you away.
It could wrench and drag you down under.
It would flood you so fast, you’d have nothing to say.
The surging waters race around you like a mass of thunder.
Calm and peaceful or fierce and dangerous,
the creek deep in the forest will remain mysterious.
