Midnight Lovers
I let down my wall and I started to fall,
I tripped on my feet needing a retreat,
Crying aloud the shadows seeped in,
Well aware I’m my father's sin,
You looked at me with light and delight,
Never once had we raised our voices or started to fight,
Then the sky turned grey you didn’t stay,
Felt my colors fade away,
Tears that flood drenched in blood,
My heart broke apart and fell with a thud,
Saw your bodying swinging to and fro,
From a tree, the rope never let go,
Singing there in the breeze hanging from our cherry tree,
With a note saying "I can’t do this anymore I’m sorry my heart is torn",
What happened to the love you swore galore,
Went up to the kitchen took a rope,
with you dead, I have no hope,
I will not live my life and mope,
Tied it around the cherry tree same branch you used you see,
I took your hand in mine and stepped down with glee,
Two bodies swinging in the moonlight neither could complete the fight,
But in the night the tree carved out “it’ll be alright”
