the midnight sky.

gazing up at the midnight sky

she admired the vast gleaming stars above

and wondered

wondered, if they saw her too

wondered, if they loved her too

the cool breeze beside her was nudging

her to go inside

but, she stayed

at least for a few moments longer

lost in a deep trance of awe

and delight

oh, how beautifully bright

they shone down the world below

she was just beginning to leave

when simultaneously,

the distant lights above

seemed to flicker

in perfect unison

her heart skipped a beat

and jubilance overcame her body

and spirit

as she knew,

that the stars above

saw and loved her too
