Midnight Wonder

Aching feet march on in possible vain.

wondering when the end will come and watching strangers pray for a similar outcome.

 No More!

No More!

this moving metal box might never arrive and I-

might make it home unharmed.

Bright lights come from the tunnel and stop in front of me.

I'm welcomed in by the frizzing beer on the floor, ripped seats, and red light.

A mans glance catches mine and for a moment we comprehend the chaos.

He is a stranger, but among all the others, we all are.

How well do you even know yourself?

I was given an offer at our destination- to start a new journey.
