Mightier Than The Sword
The pen in my hand, I hold a firm grip
As an idea enters I click the top
The tip touches the paper; the thoughts escape
Words gush out- a geyser
From my intellect which was their home
The pen liberates my mind
It twists and turns in rhythm to dancing words
Exploring the realm which they have come into
An eclipse
My inspiration has been enclosed
Before my thoughts fade
The pen seizes them from my mind
And brings them into the open
My imagination flows onto the page
The pen is there to transport it
I am mystified
That such a small tool can make history
Swiftly the light returns
My muse resumes her sweet tune
She lures me further
The hiatus over, I write faster
Afraid of losing her again
My hand starts to ache
As I move it with speed
I drown the sheet with everything I feel
Words a refuge for the depths of my soul
I hold up my paper to look at what I have done,
All I see is a poem
