The Mighty Pen

All my life I had a secret inner world Private and imaginative All my life I wore strong expression Books were my favorite weapon All my life I paid attention to details Allowing it to let me prevail All my life Some things we choose not to reveal Due to what it might entail All my life I think eleven I picked up the pen Really much younger than that All my life Diaries, Journals, and notebooks Bearing the truth of my world All my life In writing we can speak and feel Letting out the spills All my life Poetry has caused me to pour Out my soul in verse All my life Poetry has revealed You can always use the mighty pen As a place for healing
