Miles of a Marathon

Sometimes the finish line seems to be so close

Down the road, just a few breathes away

"Finish strong" they say

You keep your head up

Keep your legs moving

Your heart beating

Just thinking

"It's almost over"

Sometimes the finish line is miles away

A dark, endless road

You're out of water, out of breathe, out of time

Weak, weary,

Ready to sit

To still

Yet you must keep going

You must keep breathing

You must think

Although miles away,

You must be strong

You are strong
