A Milestone

I wish to be A meditating milestone Half buried in the Earth Never weather-beaten A perfect visible union Of Time and Space Receiving the piss of dogs And the service of a Surveyor With complete poise and peace Waiting and watching the moving cars Which fly to and fro ,I wonder why it is so I stand with a painted and numbered face Witnessing the unending traffic along the road Prof. R .
