Military Brat

I'm a military brat

Though brat is the wrong word

Because we are probably some of the toughest kids in the world

We get it from our parents

From our moms and dads

Who go off to different countries to make the world a better place

And from our moms and dads

Who stay behind and become our anchor

We're very different than most kids

We know not to judge people cause everyone has a story

We know how to make friends in nearly every situation

We can handle moving every two to three years

Cause unlike other kids who look forward to the excitement of a new place to keep them going in a move

We know to hold onto the memories

Our minds are a beautiful collection of past and future

We keep our old pals as we make new ones

We don't have a circle of friends

We have a globe of them

This is our life and we learn to survive it

It is like no other and that's what makes us, us.
