Millenia-old questions cemented in the

Millenia-old questions cemented in the human psyche:

What is love?

Why does it soothe, but also sting?

How can I distinguish between these facets, so alluring but so poisonous?

How can I know if I am truly loved?

Their answer:

A powerful bond is built on trust, both ways.

There can be no masks, no malice, no machinations.

When I am hurt, reach out and hold me. And when you are hurt, I will do the same.

We won't ask for anything in return- your safety is my reward, my safety yours.

When I feel free, unchained.

When I have no reason to hide, conceal.

When I can laugh, smile.

Ah, I think to myself, that is love.
