The Mind

Strong is the power of the mind

It can hold you prisoner

So great is its strength that it binds

Holding tightly to all pieces of information one allows in

Be careful what you see

Your mind will remember it

In your mind it will be

Even if it is just for a little bit

Do not take this lightly at all

For it may be the beginning of your fall

The evil that you hear

Your mind will remember it

It is what your heart will bear

Even if it is just for a little bit

Eventually your mind will tell on you

If this evil, which you hear, you repeat and do

And yes, forever these things will stay

Your mind will not let them go

These you may mistakenly repeat

Because only these things your mind does know

The foul that comes in is the foul that comes out

What you feed into your mind will right out your mouth

So can only I imagine, if all I heard was good

And all that I saw was likewise

A role model I could be

To every person I meet

If you want see an example of God’s child,

Look at me!

If you don’t want to act wild,

Watch me, see?

I can’t explain it in words,

So walk in my shoes to see what I saw

Follow me and hear what I heard

But...I can’t really say that

Because what I saw wasn’t clean

And my mind remembered it

What I heard was mean

And my mind remembered it

So when I’m ready

Then you can watch me, because my mind will be clean

Through the Blood of Jesus Christ, is what I mean
