Mind and Body

I sit and wonder how this all started
When my soul and body finally parted
My body is here but my mind is not
The more I think the more I feel the rot
That builds up inside this empty corps I call a vessel
And when I move, I can't feel those muscles

Am I even here, or is this all a dream?
When I go out all I want to do is scream
With every waking moment as if it's not my own
I can't seem to find a body that I can call home
I try so hard but I get no-where
Will I ever be happy? I ask with every prayer

I sit and wonder how this all started
When my soul and body finally parted
For now I have to be content

A pen in one hand and paper for me to vent
But maybe one day I'll build my tent
And in my tent my body will sit
And thus I will go and my soul will finally fit
