Mind and Body
I am thinking of a number: 1 through 10,
What is it?
That is for me to know and you to find out.
Words rush through my mind,
Just as fast as I thought of a number.
No thinking is required,
Just my body expressing itself.
My mind is releasing all of my emotions,
Onto this tiny piece of paper.
Poetry is a part of me,
My poetry is me.
It is me crumbled,
And broken.
Defeated,
And Bruised.
But it is also me
Happy,
And Excited.
Poetry is life.
It is the leaves that blow in the wind,
And the stars that shine so bright at night.
It is the sand at the bottom of the ocean,
And the birds flying through the cloudless skies.
Words are my inspiration,
And my way of interacting with the world.
It is my outlet,
And my burden.
People will see all of it,
Every bit and piece of me.
Especially my mind and body,
And that can sometimes be terrifying.
