The Mind and the Music
I'm frustrated.
I'm happy.
I'm sad.
88 black and white keys wait for me.
Do re mi fa sol la ti do!
My fingers fly,
Racing up and down the scale!
Concentrate.
I open Beethoven, my favorite.
Dense black dots and lines entangle my mind.
I SLAM down the keys,
FORTE
Emotions running wild.
Then a sweet melody interrups
And gently lifts my fingers,
Piano
Pulling me down to contentment.
Whole again,
I stand up, click off the light, and cover the keys with care.
