A Mind changed

I was told if you have black in you you're nothing

You are not more then dirt on the ground

You are not more then the gum on the bottom of their shoe

You will amount to be nothing but a maid

But no no I won't be that

I have DREAMS and GOALS

I will be the lawyer I want to be

I will build my own lawfirm

I will build my dream house

I will do this and change the minds around

I will show them that a biracial child can do it

I can and will do it on my own

I will change the minds around
