Mind Control by Britney Zaparolli

Why should I be afraid?

It is only a relaxing day

if I let it be

instead of knowing I waste my mornings going in circles.

It is only a knot in my stomach

if I let it be

instead of the guilt I feel for having hurt you.

It is only time to myself

if I let it be

instead of knowing I'll always be alone.

Maybe bliss is only here because of ignorance.

Maybe life is exactly how it seems.

Either way, these fears are here

only when I let them be.
