Mind Doesn't Matter

What I say doesn’t matter. I’m 16 years old today.

It’s true. Who cares what I have to say?

Who cares just because I get good grades?

My mind isn’t light,

But it sure isn’t dark-

You’re looking for my flames, all I have is the spark.

I don’t know how I work,

I learn everyday-

The point is, I’ve got nothing to say.

I’m not uninspired; just know where I’m at.

I’m too young to matter, I’m okay with that.

One day when I get the knowledge I need,

To work and to speak and fulfill others’ needs,

I’ll have a voice that matters a lot-

But, for now, I’ll keep my mouth shut.
