Mind of Flames
Dear January 8, 2009,
I wake in bed with thoughts of you
and I can't shake your grip.
You hold onto my brain
tightly, never showing sign of fading.
Sweat pours down temples, burning
like the memory you have branded
I wake in bed with thoughts of you
and you show no mercy.
The flames rage on, the fuel is infinite
like the fear in my heart.
Why can't I forget you?
Please, I beg, leave me.
I wake in bed with thoughts of you
and you remind me of my darkest hour.
The fire, brighter than the sun
is scarred into my mind.
If a fire truck couldn't rid me of you,
how can I do it alone?
I sit in bed with thoughts of you
and your demon glow that reaches out.
The collapsing begins and yet you still stand.
I want to forget but you wont budge.
Four fire engines defeat you
until you are no more.
I get out of bed with thoughts of you
and how you stole my life.
Leaving only my teddy bear and blanket,
you get to forget about me,
but the singes in my blanket only remind me of you.
I never wake with thoughts of you
and I learn forgiveness. Something you could never.
I live on without you
Happier than i could've thought.
You dont faze me and I have forgotten you
forever
