Mind Games

Challenging the mind

Seeing mind over matter

Using my skills and thoughts

But mostly the latter

Stimulating the mind

I innovate through my diction

Opening my eyes and mouth

Realizing the importance of non-fiction

Expressing the mind

I speak through lyric

Testing my wit and speed

It’s my voice- just hear it

Refreshing the mind

I keep evolving

Staying the best and the brightest

Because the world keeps revolving

Feeding the mind

I choose to keep learning

Eating up news and knowledge

Fuels my deep yearning

Losing her mind

Sylvia Plath inspired me

Mixing poetry and pain

I love her work in its entirety

Understanding the mind

I will become a psychologist

Helping those hurt and lost

Is the reason for all of this
