Mind Over Matters

I wanted death.

My mind raced.

My breath hastened .

My chest felt tight.

Shadows filled thoughts.

My mind was crossed.

I wanted life.

I wanted death.

Limbo of thought.

But that was then

and this is now.

When thoughts creep in,

I count  to ten,

closing my eyes.

I see my world

where I find peace.
