Mindful
I am an iced brook, winding past the
Lonely travelers through isolated hills
I am an eagle, soaring in the fresh air,
Watching the world pass along underneath
Halfway to sixteen, I am a woman and child
All at once, seen as foolish and naive
The color of the sand, and earthly tan
I quickly spend my time
I am the Pennsylvania forest, fresh;
Full of hidden secrets
Like ice, seen as cold and bitter, unreached for,
But only to the naked eye
I am loneliness, secluded in my never ending mind,
Though I am surrounded by beautiful people
